Melbourne Graduation Ceremony

Description

RMIT holds an annual graduation ceremony in Melbourne. The 2017 Melbourne Graduation Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 13 December at 6.30pm at Docklands Stadium. More than 7000 students graduate watched by 30,000 guests!

On the morning of the day of the ceremony, more than 3,000 RMIT students and staff participate in the colourful Melbourne Graduation Parade.

Who can attend

All higher education and vocational education students can choose to graduate at this ceremony.

How to apply

Visit Apply to graduate. The deadline to apply to attend the Melbourne Graduation Ceremony is Saturday 30 September 2017.

Cost

The fee to attend the Melbourne Ceremony in 2017 is $170. This includes:

  • hire of academic dress (gown)
  • your testamur (certificate)
  • four guest tickets for your family and friends
  • catering for you and your guests after the ceremony.

If you have paid the graduation fee and decide not to attend the ceremony you may be eligible for a refund if your account is in credit. You must change your graduation option by Thursday 7 December or your graduation fee will be held. For more information go to Fees and payments.

In absentia graduation

Description

To graduate in absentia means to graduate without attending a graduation ceremony. Instead you receive your testamur (certificate) by registered post. In absentia conferral (graduation) occurs on the last working day of each month (except for November and December where the conferral date is the day of the Melbourne Graduation Ceremony).

If you graduate in absentia your testamur will be posted approximately two weeks after the date of your conferral.

Who can graduate in absentia

All higher education and vocational education students can choose to graduate in absentia.

If you graduate in absentia you cannot attend a ceremony later.

How to apply

To graduate in absentia, you need to apply to graduate. You can do this when you are in your last semester of your program.

Cost

There is no cost to graduate in absentia.

Doctoral Degrees Graduation Ceremony

Description

The Doctoral Degrees Graduation Ceremony is an event which celebrates the achievements of doctoral students from the colleges of Business, Design and Social Context, and Science, Engineering and Health. The 2017 Doctoral Degrees Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday 19 May at 3pm in Storey Hall on the City campus.

Who can attend

Only doctoral students can choose to graduate at this ceremony.

How to apply

The deadline to apply to attend this ceremony was Friday 31 March 2017.

Confirm your attendance

The deadline to confirm your attendance was Monday 17 April 2017.

Cost

The fee to attend is $170. This includes:

Hong Kong Graduation Ceremony

Description

RMIT holds two graduation ceremonies in Hong Kong annually. The 2017 Hong Kong Graduation Ceremonies will held on Sunday 15 October at the Intercontinental Hong Kong.

Who can attend

These ceremonies are open to all higher education and vocational education students studying in Hong Kong and students studying in Melbourne who have family and friends in Hong Kong.

The fee to attend the Hong Kong Ceremony in 2017 is $200. This includes five guest tickets for your family and friends.

Vietnam graduation ceremonies

Description

Vietnam holds annual RMIT graduation ceremonies in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi for RMIT award programs. Ceremonies are held in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 November at the Saigon South Campus, and in Hanoi on Friday 1 December 2017 at the Hanoi Opera House.

Who can attend

The ceremonies are open to higher education students studying in Vietnam and higher education students studying in Melbourne who have family and friends in Vietnam.

How to apply

To attend one of these ceremonies you need to apply to graduate by Saturday 30 September 2017.

Note: Vietnam enrolled students who have not selected a graduation option, but have had their program completion confirmed, will be conferred in absentia on the same day as their campus’s graduation ceremony.

Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) Graduation Ceremonies

Description

Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), a partner of RMIT, holds annual graduation ceremonies for its students in RMIT programs. The 2017 graduation ceremony will be held between Tuesday 22 and Friday 25 August at the Grand Hall (SIM Headquarters).

Who can attend?

The ceremony is open to SIM-enrolled students only.

How to apply

To attend the ceremony you need to apply to graduate by Wednesday 31 May 2017.

Note: SIM enrolled students who have not selected a graduation option, but have had their program completion confirmed, will be conferred in absentia on the same day as their campus’s graduation ceremony.

Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE) Graduation Ceremony

Description

Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE), a partner of RMIT, holds an annual graduation ceremony for its students in RMIT programs. The 2017 ceremony will be held on Wednesday 7 June at Songjiang Campus.

These ceremonies are open to SUIBE-enrolled students only.

How to apply

To attend this ceremony, you need to apply to graduate by Saturday 22 April 2017.

UPH Graduation Ceremony

Description

The Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), Indonesia, holds an annual graduation ceremony for its students in RMIT programs. The 2017 ceremony will be held on Wednesday 18 October at 9.30am in the HOPE Building.

Who can attend?

This ceremony is open to UPH-enrolled students only.
