If you are an engineering student with an interest in electric drives, control and industrial automation engineering, this scholarship could provide financial assistance and possible work experience.

Value and duration

Two scholarships are available; each valued at $4000 for one year (payable in 2017) plus the opportunity for 12 weeks' of paid work experience.


To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a permanent humanitarian visa holder and have working rights in Australia
  • be entering your honours year in Semester 1, 2017
  • not hold another scholarship. One-off bursaries, academic prizes and Commonwealth Learning or similar equity-based scholarships are excepted
  • be currently enrolled full-time in your third year in one of the following programs:
    • BH075 Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Honours)
    • BH073 Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) (Honours)

OR in your fourth year in one of the following double degree programs:

    • BH081 Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Honours) / Bachelor of Business (Management) double degree
    • BH083 Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Honours) / Bachelor of Commerce double degree
    • if shortlisted, be available to attend an interview in early August 2016.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • a high level of academic achievement in past studies
  • a high level of communication, team-building and interpersonal skills
  • motivation for their chosen field of engineering.

As the holder of this scholarship you may have the opportunity to undertake paid vacation employment with SEW-EURODRIVE. It includes the meaningful, hands-on work involved in typical manufacture design and testing of the full range of SEW-EURODRIVE products. Work may be available from November to March.
