Sustainability drinks

Official Opening and RMIT Sustainability Drinks

Join us for a drink in the Alumni Courtyard, as Paul Gough, Pro Vice-Chancellor and head of the RMIT Sustainability Committee, officially opens Sustainability Week. This will be followed by RMIT Sustainability Drinks a chance for staff and students alike to come together in a relaxed, social atmosphere and talk about all things sustainability and beyond! It's a great opportunity for like-minded people of RMIT to socialise and tap into each other's enthusiasm and experience.

Sustainability Drinks will be a regular fixture on the RMIT Student Union Department calendar for 2016 with a variety of guest speakers and presenters set to make an appearance throughout the year. And for those of you on a student budget don't stress; there will be plenty of drinks and nibbles to go around!

Join us on a food and coffee tour of some of Melbourne's most ethical and sustainable food options available near the City campus. Includes all drinks, snacks and lunch at mystery sustainable/ethical locations.

Teaching Fellowships and Innovation Projects - Funding for 2016

The Office of the Dean Learning and Teaching will offer funding for three Learning and Teaching for Sustainability (LTfS) Teaching Fellowships and three Innovation Projectsto leading RMIT educators in 2016. These are intended to provide staff with funding for the creative design and implementation of innovative curriculum and learning resources for enhanced Sustainability student learning outcomes. Staff are invited to attend an information session, which will include details about the application process, selection criteria and funding available. Green Roof Tour

Green Roof Tour

Join us for an exciting tour of the rooftop gardens in and around RMIT City campus. The tour will be hosted by The Matter of Landscape, a green roof research project and Greening RMIT, a student ­run project with the aim of creating more urban gardens at RMIT. Starting at the Alumni Courtyard, this tour will take you up to the Building 8 Rooftop Gardens, 10 floors above Swanson Street - greenery with a view! This is an opportunity to see some interesting spaces on campus and hear from leading researchers on Green Roof best practice.

Map Your Food

Mapping Your Food: Have Your Say

Join our ‘Food and Sustainability at RMIT City campus’ focus group as we plan a campus food map. Have your say about where and what you eat on campus, as well as the kind of food spaces you’d like on campus. Free food/drinks will be available, as well as a $25 voucher for food and coffee at RUSU Real Foods cafe.

True Cost pre-screening

Positive impacts: Fashion and Engineering For Good

Engineers Without Borders

True Cost Film Screening

Engineers Without Borders and Fair Trade at RMIT have partnered to present the powerful and moving documentary True Cost, a feature length film exploring the impact of fashion, the people and the planet. Nibbles are provided.

She Bang

She Bang

Presented with the support of RMIT Link Arts and Culture, She Bang is an afternoon of activities featuring a Roller Derby Victoria Showcase match, female DJs, Nail Art by Trophy Wife, MC Momo Liza, Cheer leaders, singing and dancing, martial arts, Zine making and food.

She Bang aims to support social sustainability through gender equality.

Come along and learn how to make their signature 'mason jar terrariums'. These low-maintenance terrariums make perfect gifts for friends, family or yourself. This workshop is free and you can even take home your terrariums at the end. Spots are limited so make sure you register quickly!
