Course Description

In this course you will acquire an understanding of how the legal principles relating to corporate law apply to business clients. Using a case study, you will examine the key corporate law principles involved in the creation, operation, and winding up of a company in Australia.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

On the successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  1. Provide well researched advice to businesses clients on a range of corporate law issues regarding company operations.
  2. Provide advice to businesses and clients regarding the implications of a changing regulatory environment relating to corporate law.
  3. Communicate effectively with clients on a range of business issues to indicate the corporate law consequences of decisions taken.
  4. Conduct research make informed recommendations that support improvements to corporate law.


Overview of Learning Activities

In this course you will be encouraged to be an active learner. Your learning will be supported through various in-class and online activities comprising individual and group work. These may include quizzes; assignments; prescribed readings; sourcing, researching and analysing specific information; solving problems; conducting presentations; producing written work and collaborating with peers on set tasks or projects.
