Course Description
This course will examine specific legal issues pertaining to company finance in Australia including relevant legislation and recent significant cases.
Selected issues of corporate financial law will be examined in greater detail than is possible in an introductory unit. This unit reflects the tendency of the business community to give increasing recognition to the importance of law, in an overall understanding of the commercial environment.

• Effectively research electronic data bases and internet resources relevant to law and extract meaningful information.
• Have an appreciation of aspects of the legal framework within which businesses operate.
• Exercise skills in legal methodology.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the underlying principles of corporate finance law
• Develop awareness of how changes in the law may affect business practice
