As this is a postgraduate course students must have a base degree of at least 3 years.
An approved DS&C Portfolio course in research methodology/methods


Course Description

Extended Independent Study B is a 13,000 word, or equivalent, research project. Extended Independent Study B is the second semester of this research project. The candidate will work in close consultation with a supervisor to prepare and present a research project of approximately 13,000 words or equivalent over two semester part time or one semester full time. This may be an individual project or consist of a significant contribution to a group project. This course is the second stage of a 2 course project.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

The student will within this second semester period finalised a research paper of 13,000 words through:
1. Investigating and analyse relevant literature.
2. Obtain the necessary RMIT approvals to undertake a research project (HRESC and the relevant Program committee approval).
3. Conducting necessary fieldwork or data collection.
4. Present work in the required format for a research project.
5. Submit the research project for examination.
