Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

As this is a postgraduate course students must have a base degree of at least 3 years.
An approved course in research methodology/methods and successfully completed Minor thesis A and Minor thesis B.

 


Course Description

The candidate will present a research project of approximately 19,500 words or equivalent. This is the third stage of a 3 stage project. Following completion of Stage 3 the project will be submitted for examination and receive a graded pass.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

For this course, students determine their own objectives. The minor thesis has essentially self-initiated and self-directed with support from tutorial groups and individual consultations.
This course involves the presentation of a 19,500 word research report.

Overview of Learning Activities

The course involves consultation with an appointed supervisor.
Independent Study: Student works with supervisor on a negotiated research task. Individual Research Project.

 


Overview of Learning Resources

This course is designed to meet the needs of students from a range of contexts. Students will be expected to access and read publications (journal articles, websites, book chapters etc), reflect on their research design and bring the research from the three semesters together into one cohesive research report. Directions for formatting and presentation will be presented in tutorials.


Overview of Assessment

A 19,500 word minor thesis to be submitted on the finalisation of the project. Examiners will be appointed for the examination to completion.
