Course Description

Digital businesses leverage digital technologies to create new business models and new ways to conduct business. Digital businesses are increasingly important as technology has shifted from being a facilitator of business to being at the heart of business strategies in our ever-digital world. 


In this course, you will develop the necessarily knowledge and skills to transform existing businesses to digital businesses and develop new digital businesses.

On successful completion of this course you will be able to:

CLO1. Critically analyse business problems and opportunities that can be addressed or capitalised upon by using digital systems, and recommend feasible solutions.

CLO2. Design, develop, justify and evaluate digital systems as solutions to business problems and opportunities.

CLO3. Work individually and collaboratively with others to analyse business problems and opportunities to design, develop, justify and evaluate digital systems as solutions.

CLO4. Effectively elucidate the value proposition and technical details of solutions to non-technical business professionals.

Your learning will be supported through various activities which may include quizzes; assignments; prescribed readings; sourcing, researching and analysing specific information; solving problems; debating selected topics on discussion forums and producing written work.

In addition to topic notes; assessment details and a study schedule you may also be provided with links to relevant online information; readings; audio and video clips and communication tools to facilitate collaboration with your peers and to share information.
