Course Description
This course provides you with the opportunity to perform a detailed literature investigation of an area of specialised knowledge which is not provided in the formal program structure. You will need to negotiate with the course coordinator to define the learning area and mode of learning, which will normally involve direct learning, literature research and study and periodic discussion with the coordinator and other members of staff supervising the dissertation.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
The course aims to extend both the student’s fields of interest in chemistry and develop the skills needed to communicate the knowledge gained and critical skills needed to evaluate this knowledge.
Overview of Learning Activities
The primary activity is the production of a written dissertation on the chosen topic.

The student will normally carry out his/her own research and access resources through the library and/or the internet. Some resources may be provided by the lecturer as a starting point.

Assessment is based on the submitted dissertation.
