Course Description

This course provides an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in particular printing processes.

Project work comprises developing a new product (design), conducting a sample run and evaluating the processes involved for product performance and commercial viability.

Topics covered include: Rotary Printing - design for, colour preparation, printing, colour setting, finishing processes, faults; Screen Printing - types (hand, rotary, flat bed), design for, colour preparation, screen preparation, printing, colour setting, finishing processes associated with printed fabrics, faults; Digital Ink Jet Printing – software, inks and processing techniques; Heat Transfer Printing - printing, colour setting, finishing processes, faults.

For the students to gain knowledge and skills in particular printing processes.
