Course Description

This course looks at quality management from a philosophical perspective. It consists of three modules. The first looks at quality philosophies and strategies as espoused by the ’gurus’ of quality, and adopted by organizations. Approaches like Benchmarking, Six Sigma and QFD are also examined. The second module looks at the prominent organizations, certification and award schemes active in the quality movement. The third looks at practical ways of implementing quality strategies in organizations.

On completing this course you will have developed a philosophy of quality based on a clear understanding of the thoughts of past and present leaders in quality, and a thorough knowledge of the international quality movement.

The subject includes three modules, each of four weeks duration. Each module is led by an acknowledged leader in the area, with extensive industry-based experience.
