Course Description
This module of Techniques of Strategic Analysis is concerned with investigating the future as a key dimension of strategic management. Three approaches to the future are considered - forecasting, managing and understanding.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
Candidates will develop their understanding of advanced means and methods of planning for and focusing on the future as an essential component of strategic management.
On completion of this course candidates will have a strengthened and deepened appreciation of how the future dimension in strategy can be handled, and the usefulness of various tools and techniques for forecasting and envisaging the future.

Three seminars lead by the course co-ordinator, and a forecasting or futurology task.

By a project in which each candidate will explore the future in a way that they find appropriate and useful.
