Course Description
This course has been designed to inform students on the genesis of ore deposits and the methods and techniques used in their study and evaluation for eventual exploitation.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
The major topic areas to be developed in the course are: Classic theories of ore genesis; the mineralogiy and petrology of ore deposits; the distribution of minerals in the orebody and its relationship to the host rocks.
Upon completion of the course the student should:
-possess sound knowledge of the current theories of ore deposition, and their application to ore deposit discovery and development
