A basic knowledge of the geospatial science industry and the technology associated with the industry is required.
Course Description
Self-guided study involving:
Attendance at approved professional presentations
Literature review
Investigation of contemporary geospatial science organisations.
Develop of a sound understanding of a specific area of geospatial activity and the issues confronting it.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
This course concentrates on building investigative and independent learning skills in the student.
At the completion of this course the student will able to appreciate the breadth and scope of issues in contemporary geospatial science through undertaking a selection of self learn exercises.
Overview of Learning Activities
Students will develop, through contact with peers, academics and members of industry, an understanding of current questions/issues in the field of Geospatial Science.
Overview of Learning Resources
Professional journals, conference proceedings, web and library resources will be used.
Overview of Assessment
Assessment will be based on the written reports based on individual activities undertaken by the student.
