Course Description
This course will provide pre-service teachers with opportunities to discuss and critically reflect on course readings, personal experiences, theoretical perspectives, and teaching practices. The mode of delivery involves a combination of formal lectures, informal tutorials, small group work, discussions, one-to-one consultations, on-line discussions, observations and skill development through self-paced study. Pre-service teachers will formulate the nature of their investigation with their lecturer.

During the course pre-service teachers will explore:
• teachers as investigators of their own practice;
• using literature to support ideas;
• data gathering techniques;
• the role of critical reflection;
• analysis and interpretation of information;
• writing and presenting findings.
