Course Description
This unit is designed to provide an insight into the world (or cyber-world) of E-business and to introduce the fundamentals required to successfully implement an E-business strategy. The material caters for a broad target audience, anyone who wishes to grasp the extent of E-Business opportunities and the technology that drives them.
It aims to educate on ways to minimise risk by focusing on the essential requirements for Business to operate effectively in an electronic environment. The course material provides reassurance to businesses of the cost benefits that flow from using the Internet to its full potential.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
On completion of this course, students will be able to:
• understand E-Business fundamentals from a multi-disciplinary focus.
• minimise risk in the dynamic environment of E-Business.
• suggest strategies to conduct Business in an electronic environment.
• provide reassurance to businesses that IT can be used to advantage.

The assessment for this course comprises three written essay-style assignments. There is no final exam in this course.
