Course Description
This course gives you an introduction to professional work in engineering. The course is a starting pointing for the ongoing professional development that you are expected to undertake throughout your professional engineering career. Concepts are covered through a variety of delivery modes including lectures, prescribed and student-designed professional development activities, discussions, tutorials and team project work.

On completion of this course you should be able to:

- Communicate in a professional manner.
- Identify and critically manage ethical issues which may arise when working as a professional.
Overview of Learning Activities
Face to face learning will comprise of 4 hours per week over one semester, comprising of 2 hours of teacher guided lectures and 2 hours of student-guided, tutor-facilitated tutorial sessions. Students are expected to spend at least 6 hours of self-directed independent or group learning, each week over one semester.

Learning resources will include a textbook, lecture notes, videos, tutorial activities, supplementary course notes and references.
