Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

The pre-requisite for this course is Introduction to Business Management and the successful completion of all core courses in the MBA program is recommended.

It is also recommended that this course be undertaken in the final semester of the program.

Course Description

This capstone course draws together and integrates the learning from other courses.

This is partly achieved through a simulation game in which students form teams (or ‘companies’) and undertake the roles of managers.

They compete with other ‘companies’, planning R&D, investment, production, marketing, and finance over a continuum of eight financial years.

Feedback on decision consequences leads into the following year’s decisions.

Students are also required to participate in consideration and discussion of current business issues, strategic and operational.

[Note: The course title is to change to "Business Operations (Strategy and Application)" from Sem 1 2011 as identified in the Rationale for Program Amendment MBA document 29/4/2010.]
