Course Description
This is the foundation course of the MBA program, done in intensive mode. It provides a wide ranging introduction to the program and the skills necessary to succeed in it, notably team building, management styles, presentations and communication. Students will gain insight into the frameworks and issues that underpin the business and social environment. It also introduces students to the standards of behaviour, study and written and oral presentations required in the MBA program. The content and discussions cover a broad range of issues from organisational behaviour, economic systems, organisational design, globalisation and its impacts, possible systems and structural designs, strategy, questions of ethics and society. It includes syndicate exercises and presentations on various topics and cases – graphs and tables; managerial psychology; strategy; HRM, accounting information.
