Course Description

This course extends the experience from Business Design Project 1. In this course you will integrate and consolidate your learning to creatively execute a project proposal. You will apply design thinking principles and techniques to produce creative and innovative plans, options and solutions to address a contemporary business issue or opportunity. This course offers you opportunities to examine broader business issues from multiple perspectives to inform innovative responses to complex problems.

This course provides you with a capstone experience, which will give you the opportunity to integrate, critically reflect on and consolidate what you have learnt in your program.

On successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  1. Apply research and critical thinking skills to inform strategic approaches, solutions and options
  2. Create business plans, strategies and options using design thinking principles and techniques.
  3. Respond to and reflect on feedback to develop strategies for improvement.
  4. Present creative and persuasive pitches, ideas and responses to complex issues
  5. Produce persuasive written reports and plans to communicate options or solutions effectively.

In this course you will be encouraged to be an active learner. Your learning will be supported through various in-class and online activities comprising individual and group work. These may include quizzes; assignments; prescribed readings; sourcing, researching and analysing specific information; solving problems; conducting presentations; producing written work and collaborating with peers on set tasks or projects.
