Course Description

In this course you will focus on the application of digital media technologies, including how digital media technologies are used to create and deliver content across multi-platform applications. You will explore, imaging, audio and video production practice, and investigate how to integrate digital media technologies into industry standard projects.

This is the designated Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course for DP008 Diploma of Design (Digital Media). This course includes a work integrated (WIL) learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Discuss ways in which design and technology are influenced by social issues.
  • Apply theory and technical skills to capture and produce digital media (sound, images, video).
  • Identify and apply industry standards in digital media production.
  • Investigate and assess the most appropriate technology for the development of digital media productions.
  • Produce digital media that can be distributed across a range of platforms.

Overview of Assessment

You will be assessed on how well you meet the course’s learning outcomes and on your development against the program learning outcomes.

Assessments for this course will be:

  • Comparative case study, design and social issues (25%)
  • Individual evaluation, product and process (25%)
  • Group project, image and audio, concept to realisation (50%)
