Amazing Race run and won for 2013

27 teams took part in the RMIT Amazing Race on a beautiful Sunday in Melbourne. Teams gathered in the morning sunshine, making last minute adjustments to their team uniform and discussing strategy.

A mad dash to the clue bags marked the start of the race and teams departed the Alumni Courtyard in search of their first challenge. Ice Skating, Rap Jumping (forward abseiling) and a visit to the Ice Bar were among the challenges awaiting teams in various locations around the CBD.

The racers enjoyed a well deserved meal (including desert!) at the finish as the prizes for the top three teams were awarded, team Game On providing a highlight with their reaction to placing 3rd. The Golden Girls took out the prize for best dressed with a fantastic effort that included wigs and glitter.

The overall winners of the day were The Interracials, ironically beating a team called Unbeatable by 4 minutes. It was a particularly impressive display of teamwork from Unbeatable to finish second as they were a team made up of individual registrations who didn’t know each other before 10.30am Sunday morning!

“It's not about finishing the race first, it's about experiencing the excitement during the journey that makes it the Amazing Race!" - Tina

“Great way to spend a Sunday filled with laughter, fun and challenges. A different way to get to know your friends better and make new friends along the way. Definitely recommend this to all RMIT students!" -Nazneen
