Embedding sustainability within the curriculum involves identifying the sustainability knowledge, skills and perspectives which are relevant to the program discipline/s and professional practice.
Curriculum design and renewal focuses interactive, multidisciplinary experiential e-learning and e-assessment resources.
When embedding sustainability into programs you may consider the following questions:
- What sustainability knowledge, skills and perspectives will graduates of this program need?
- What sort of learning experiences will students need to develop these?
- Where does this learning best fit into the program?
- How will sustainability related learning be assessed?
The Learning and Teaching for Sustainability toolkit has templates and worksheet activity samples for program mapping and curriculum development.
Program teams, curriculum leaders and other course developers are encouraged to select from the ten toolkit templates to support new or renewed program design, delivery and assessment, or to adapt these and create their own.
