Tara Hall, Exchange to Glasgow Caledonian University, UK
Tara had a "perfect" semester 2, 2013 at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland.
“Definitely stay on campus as it was a lot of fun and join many sports or societies as it is a great way of meeting people!”
RMIT Program: Bachelor of Applied Science (Property and Valuation)
Global Program: Exchange
Destination: Glasgow, UK
Glasgow Caledonian University is in the heart of Glasgow city, something that added to Tara’s exchange experience there in semester 2, 2013. She lived in on campus accommodation, and became involved in many extra-curricular activities, which made her feel strongly a part of the campus and Glasgow community. “I joined the basketball and netball teams and they were both great. Definitely stay on campus as it was a lot of fun and join many sports or societies as it is a great way of meeting people!” With Scotland being so close to Europe, Tara found time before and after her exchange to travel to Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Holland, Turkey, Austria and more. She says “travelling before and after the program was fantastic as I didn't have to travel that much on the weekends,” but also explored Scotland during the semester with her new friends. Tara would change nothing about her time in Glasgow – although she does warn anybody considering going there to be prepared with a big coat for winter!
