Key Activities

Roz Williams teaches screenwriting in the Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing, and in the Advanced Diploma of Screen (Film and Multimedia). She also teaches film production in the latter program.


Qualifications

  • Graduate Diploma in Industrial Education and Training
  • Masters of Art in Creative Writing. The topic of her Masters, the witch archetype in film, has recently been published as a monograph by Lambert Academic Publishing.
  • She is currently writing her PhD thesis on the relationship between European fairytale, folklore and myth on the disaster movie.


Industry experience

Roz’s background is in the film and television profession in Australia and the UK. She began her career working in live television, current affairs and news, documentaries and Doctor Who.

Roz has worked in the film industry as a feature film and television drama producer, writer and script editor. She was also Script Manager at Film Victoria and was on the board of the West Australian Film Council (now Film West).
