Emergency Warden Training

RMIT has engaged Evacuation Services Australia (Evac Services) to deliver emergency management related training to members of RMIT’s Emergency Control Organisation.

Training requirements

AS3745 requires members of the Emergency Control Organisation to receive training twice a year. All RMIT wardens must attend formal face-to-face training after initial appointment.

After the initial training year wardens may choose to attend formal face-to-face training each year or complete online training but they must attend formal face-to-face training every two years.

Which training do I need to book?

If you are a newly nominated Floor Warden or Warden, then you will need to book to attend Floor Warden and Warden training session and the second mandatory training requirement can be participation in an emergency management exercise , e.g. a building evacuation exercise.

If you are an existing Floor Warden or Warden but have not completed the face-to-face warden training in 2015, then you will need to book to attend Floor Warden and Warden training session and the second mandatory training requirement can be participation in an emergency management exercise , e.g. a building evacuation exercise.

If you are an existing Floor Warden or Warden and have completed the face-to-face warden training in 2015, then you can either book to attend Floor Warden and Warden training session or complete the online training module (after registration with Evac Services). The second mandatory training requirement can be participation in an emergency management exercise, e.g. a building evacuation exercise.

If you are a newly nominated Building Warden (or Chief Warden representative, e.g. Security Supervisor) , then you will need to book to attend Floor Warden and Warden training session and then book to attend Chief Warden training session.

If you are an existing Building Warden (or Chief Warden representative, e.g. Security Supervisor) but have not completed the face-to-face warden training in 2015, then you will need to book to attend Floor Warden and Warden training session and then book to attend Chief Warden training session.

If you are an existing Building Warden (or Chief Warden representative, e.g. Security Supervisor) and have completed the face-to-face Chief Warden training in 2015, then you can either book to attend the Floor Warden and Warden training session and the Chief Warden training session or complete both the Warden and Chief Warden the online training module (after registration with Evac Services).

NOTE: All personnel exercising the roles of Chief Warden, Building Warden, or Deputy Building Warden must complete Floor Warden training prior to attending the higher level Chief Warden training.
