Valentina Verbni is a lecturer in Trends Forecasting for Fashion and Textiles for Post Graduate and Undergraduate Programs with School of Fashion and Textiles. Currently she is also working as a Senior Designer with Apple Apparel in women’s wear for Australian and New Zeeland markets. Her area of strength and interests are: trends, consumer and product knowledge, ability to create the right product for a specific target market.

She is currently working towards PhD degree in the area of active apparel with incorporation of seamless knitting technology. Her current research projects and research interests cover the following areas:

  • Body zoned garment construction in active wear
  • Advanced seamless knitting for improved physiological comfort and performance
  • Fashion apparel product development and engineering; and others

Professional Interests

As a practicing Fashion Designer her 15 years professional portfolio has been built with local fashion icons such as Scanlan and Theodore, Kookai and Satch, she brings a wide knowledge of driving forces in Australian fashion industry in fields as diverse as business planning, trends forecast, product management, knitwear technology and development through design processes and marketing with practical implications demonstrated through the course.
