Design Inn Hotel Symposium Student Competition

Do you have a vision of what a hotel room will look like in the future?

Design Inn, the hotel design symposium, is looking for architecture or interior design students to challenge design practices by producing a unique hotel design that gives insight into the hotel room of the future.

The competition

To design the hotel room of the future’

All entries should show evidence of the following:

  • original concept with graphic material including a technical drawing (consider a plan, section, elevation or specific detail) and a perspective or 3D representation
  • excellent presentation and clarity of ideas
  • a written statement of no more than one A4 page.

To enter, you must be a University architecture or interior design student who is in the 3rd year of their degree or above, or has completed a minimum of six semesters at University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, The University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, RMIT and University of Melbourne.


The competition winner will gain four weeks of work experience in one of Australia’s most highly regarded design firms, Woods Bagot, in their specific state.


Designs to be submitted by 5 pm on 10 September 2014.
