RMIT networks

Digital Learning Futures Network

The Digital Learning Futures Network is an initiative from the Office of Dean Learning and Teaching that aims to bring together RMIT’s digital learning creative community for networking and professional development events.

Google+ communities

Google+ is being used to facilitate online communities of practice. Staff wishing to join with their RMIT email account must first opt-in to the Google additional services.

Professional associations

Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA)

HERDSA is a scholarly society that promotes the development of higher education policy, practice and the study of learning and teaching. Membership is available to anybody interested in the promotion and enhancement of teaching, learning and academic practice.

Australasian Society for Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education (ASCILITE)

ASCILITE is a professional association for those engaged in the educational use of technologies in tertiary education. Membership is available to professionals and academics working in fields associated with enhancing learning and teaching through the pedagogical use of technologies.

Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN)

ACEN is the professional association for practitioners and researchers from the higher education sector, industry, community and government representatives, involved in work integrated learning (WIL) in Australia.

National Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (NAGCAS)

NAGCAS is Australia’s professional body for career development in the higher and tertiary education sectors. Their mission is to connect employers to career services, support graduate career practitioners and advocate for the important of career development learning in education.

International Education Association of Australia (IEAA)

IEAA is an association that strives to empower professionals, engage institutions and enhance Australia’s reputation as a provider of world-class education. Membership comprises individuals from all sectors of the international education industry – including higher education, TAFE, vocational education, schools and English language colleges.


Educause is an international association that seeks to advance higher education through the use of information technology.

International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSoTL)

ISSoTL is an international society that fosters the inquiry and dissemination of findings about what improves and articulates post-secondary learning and teaching.
