Get your super sorted

Working while studying? It is never too early to prepare for your retirement.

Superannuation is the money paid into your super fund by your employer to help you save for retirement. Your super is equal to 9.25 percent of your earnings – that is a lot of money.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is encouraging you to get your super sorted through these simple steps:

• get a tax file number (TFN) and give it to your employer

• make sure your super fund has your TFN

• keep track of your super using SuperSeeker.

Whether you are working full time, part time or casually, what you do with your super now can have a big impact on your lifestyle after retirement.
