Course Description

This unit deals with the cultural awareness required for effective communication and cooperation with persons of diverse cultures. This course will be contextualised to reflect requirements, issues and practices specific to allied health professionals.

Overview of Assessment

The assessment will involve presentation of case studies, group practical and observation in the clinical placements with questioning to address appropriate application of knowledge.


Assessment Tasks

The case studies, class room discussions and role plays help to assess students for their understanding of cultural diversity, its awareness in the workplace and resolution of cross cultural misunderstandings.
