Students will participate in a variety of teaching methods including: lectures, tutorials,practicals, audio-visual presentations, and interaction with individuals and groups within the Telecommunications area.
Week 1: Introduction and Overview of Course, & OHS
Week 2: Basic knowledge of renewable energy
Week 3: Power measurement , and power saving hardware
Week 4: Connection of renewable energy systems
Week 5: Installation of power saving hardware
Week 6: Power consumption and saving for the ICT network
Week 7:Importance of power saving hardware
Week 8: Software for the power saving measurement and monitoring
Week 9: Selection of software
Week 10: Configuration for the power saving or power measurement
Week 11: How to implement the power saving software to the Ethernet
Introduction of assignment (Due on Week 13)
Week 12: How to communicate with client & interpret the client’s need
Week 13: Modify the configuration of the software and hardware
Week 14: The testing of power saving system
Week 15: Imporatance of preventive maintenance & Revision
Week 16: Practical test

Overview of Assessment
The assessment is conducted in both theoretical and practical aspects of the course according to the performance criteria set in the National Training Package. Assessment may incorporate a variety of methods including written/oral activities and demonstration of practical skills to the relevant industry standards. Feedback will be provided throughout the course.
To successfully complete this course you will be required to demonstrate competency in each assessment task detailed under Assessment Tasks section of Course Guide Part B.
You are required to complete the following three assessment tasks:
1. Assignment - Given out week 11, due on week 13
2. Practical test - Week 16
3. Closed book test - Week 17-18
All assessment tasks need to be successfully completed to demonstrate competence.
