Course Description

In this course you will explore the skills and knowledge required to organise and realise a creative project from the development of ideas to the creation of the work. This will be based upon a drawing folio of ideas. Ideas for communication are diverse and may include design concepts for objects, processes or spaces, or movement sequences for performances or screen productions. Drawings may be for personal use or for presentation in exhibitions, tender bid proposals or publications. Drawing may be electronic or hand drawn.

At this level, you would take some responsibility for experimentation with a range of drawing techniques and be expected to show some command of those techniques.  

This course is delivered in conjunction with CUVACD301A Produce drawings to communicate the ideas.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, you will have completed the following:

  • A selection of drawings that explore mark making and techniques
  • A select ion of drawings that use experimentation with materials and tools
  • Understanding of OH&S processes in a studio environment

In this course you will develop the following program capabilities:

  • Extended drawing process and the relevant OH&S.
  • Determine and organise resource requirements for new work
  • Develop research and refine a conceptual vision through the production of drawings    


Overview of Assessment

Assessment for this course is on going throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through completion of a body of work that demonstrates concept development, understanding of materials and adhering to the guidelines of working in a studio.
