Course Description

This course describes the basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology required to recognise body systems and their
components and to identify and refer alterations associated with the functioning of the human body in the context
of health care work.

Use accepted health terminology to describe the normal structure, function and location of the major body systems

Apply a basic understanding of the fundamental principles of maintaining a healthy body

Overview of Assessment

The course will be assessed using online quizzes/ assessment methods and participation in the class room activities to demonstrate the skill and knowledge required for gaining competency in this course.


Assessment Tasks

There will be two written examinations on 12th May and 29th May respectively( any changes will be informed via blackboard). These examinations will assess the underpinning knowledge of the students for the body systems, the functioning of the normal healthy human body and the relationship between different systems. Each exam is worth 50% of the total score. The students need to pass both exams to be deemed competent in the course.

There will be class room activities and students are required to participate in all activities to gain competency in the course.
