Course Description

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. The first aid skills can be applied in a range of different settings including community and specific workplace settings. The students will be required to address  specific risks and hazards related to the industry.

Details of Learning Activities

The learning activities will include-
 

  • Collaborative class room teaching
  • Role plays and case studies
  • Accessing information online
  • In class practical demonstrations and practice


Teaching Schedule

There will be face to face teaching and practical work on two scheduled dates. The students will be completing the underpinning knowledge, practical work and assessment for this course during this time. The attendance is compulsory for both days to achieve a competency in this course.
