Course Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to contribute to the implementation and maintenance of a work health and safety management system (WHSMS) as it applies to own work area and job role.

Teaching Schedule
The course will be introduced during a one day workshop and then taught entirely online - facilitatator led learning activities with access to learning resources 24X7 using "myRMIT".

The following range of assessment tools may be used to assess the unit of competency:

to demonstrate skills and knowledge acquired to:
- applying WHS legislation in implementing a WHSMS
- techniques used to manage WHS in the workplace
- to assess knowledge of principles relating to hazard identification, hierarchy of control, risk management, and systematic approaches to WHS.
