Course Description

The ability to communicate concepts and ideas with work colleagues, supervisors, clients and others is a crucial skill which is highly valued by employers in the live production, events and audiovisual industries.

In this course you will practice your communication and gain the skills and knowledge required to prepare, deliver and review a presentation on a chosen topic to a target audience.

1.1 Plan and document presentation approach and intended outcomes

Assessment Tasks

Assessments in this course are ungraded.

There is one assessment task for this course.

To demonstrate competency in this course, you need to complete all the following assessment to a satisfactory standard.

You will receive feedback on all assessment.

Assessment 1 of 1

Each student will prepare and present a 3-5 minute presentation to the class on a topic which will be agreed upon by the student and teacher.

The chosen topic must be ‘safe for work’.

Presentation dates and times will follow a roster.

Acceptable presentation methods include:

  •  An aural presentation with or without support aid material eg. Powerpoint Presentation with the opportunity for audience questions.
  • A demonstration of an item of equipment with the opportunity for audience questions.
  • A demonstration of a process. Eg. Introduction to Google Sketchup with the opportunity for audience questions.
  • YouTube style video presentation including voiceover and graphics as appropriate. You will show your video in class with the opportunity for audience questions.

Please note: you are expected to support your fellow students by attending and participating at all presentations.
