- processing and development of digital files to produce prints using a variety of output mediums chromogenic and inkjet.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment tasks are either ungraded or graded. Results for graded assessment tasks are equally weighted and averaged to provide your final grade.
To demonstrate competency in this course you need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You must submit all pieces of assessment in order for your competency to be assessed in this course.
SEMESTER 1
- UNGRADED ASSESSMENT
- Colour print workflow booklet - DUE WEEK 5
Produce a printed workflow booklet containing all steps of printing process. Submission must include an A4 printed nozzle check, screen grabs, written instructions and 1 A4 inkjet print. Workflow booklet must be laminated and D ring used to bind
- UNGRADED ASSESSMENT
- Target file – Group project - DUE WEEK 7
Produce A4 inkjet prints and A4 professional lab prints of supplied digital target file. The target file must include all resources supplied and be sized correctly with correct output specifications for designated printers. The files and the prints must contain the full range of tones with no clipping to demonstrate appropriate application of processing, enhancement and output techniques. Submission must also include research on lab printing and an assessment of prints and the professional labs used.
- GRADED ASSESSMENT
- Folio – 3 digital files and inkjet prints – DUE WEEK 15
Produce a folio of 3 x A4 images from supplied digital files. The folio must contain both layered PSD files, test prints as well as final pigmented inkjet prints. The files and the prints must contain the full range of tones with no clipping to demonstrate
appropriate application of processing, enhancement and output techniques. Submission must also include screen grab of layers
palette and a written summation of processing techniques used and why.
(test prints due week 13)
Final Prints Due – week 15
