In this course you will develop the skills and knowledge required to use equipment and materials that creatively explore outcomes for 3 dimensional forms. You will develop an understanding of the design principles and elements and apply these through the design process.

Your learning activities will take place in a studio, workshop or classroom using industry standard tools and resources. You will complete exercises and industry style projects. You will also be required to undertake independent study.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment tasks will require you demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills through practical projects and/or exercises.
The assessment tasks are: 3D exercises and project/s
An assessment charter summarises your responsibilities as an RMIT student as well as those of your teachers.
To demonstrate competency in this course you need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. The submitted projects will be assessed with written feedback as well as a quality indicator that relates to separate components of the project and the overall outcome. Feedback throughout the course may be written, verbal or a combination of both.
1 X Task and 2 X Projects
Task 1: Paper Craft - Develop and realise creative ideas using 3D skills and techniques. Due week 3 (10%)
Project 1: Pop-up cards/booklet - Research, realise and explore 3D skills and techniques to create a range
of design outcomes. Due week 8 (40%)
Project 2: Packaging project - Explore design processes, research and production methods using appropriate
materials skills, techniques and applications and to create multiple design solutions and outcomes.
OR Alternate design discipline based project. Due week 15 (50%)
At the completion of the course, grading will be offered in addition to, and after, competency based assessment.

All assessment tasks are required to be completed to a satisfactory level.
