Overview of Assessment

Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment tasks will require you demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills through practical projects and/or exercises.
The assessment tasks are: 3D exercises and project/s
An assessment charter summarises your responsibilities as an RMIT student as well as those of your teachers.

Assessment Tasks

To demonstrate competency in this course you need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. The submitted projects will be assessed with written feedback with an indicator of quality. Feedback throughout the course may be written, verbal or a combination of both.

Assessment tasks:

1 x Exercise and 2 x Projects

Ex 1: Paper Craft - Develop and realise creative ideas using 3D skills & techniques. Due Week 3.

Project 1: Pop-up cards/booklet - Research, realise and explore 3D skills and techniques to create a range of design outcomes. Due week 9.

Project 2: 3D Book cover - Explore design processes, research and production methods using appropriate materials skills, techniques and applications and to create multiple 3D design solutions and outcomes. Due week 18.

Due dates for assessment tasks dependent on access to specialist facilities and equipment may change. Please check Canvas regularly as any updates will be communicated by your teacher.

At the completion of the course you will be assessed for competency.
Competency-based assessment is as follows:

CA Competency Achieved
NYC Not Yet Competent

DNS Did Not Submit for Assessment

Assessment Matrix

An assessment matrix demonstrating alignment of assessment tasks with the relevant Unit of Competency is available from the course contact person (stated above).
