Course Description
The purpose of this course is to provide the participant with the skills and knowledge to safeguard their health and safety, and the health and safety of others in the workplace.
The course will introduce the participant to the legislative requirements of employers and employees and to the preventative nature of workplace health and safety.

Learning Outcomes
1. Explain the legal framework that exists in Australia for the maintenance of occupational health and safety.
2. Explain the preventative nature of workplace health and safety.
3. Conduct a workplace hazard audit to identify hazards in the workplace.
4. Apply Basic First aid procedures (DRABC).
Overview of Assessment
To successfully to complete this course the student is required to pass written assessment tasks and demonstrate skills and ability by completing practical tasks.
