This course is online. Activities include:
• blog/wiki discussion and participation
• participation in online discussion boards/threads and Collaborate sessions or other webinar-type activities
• keeping an online reflective journal
• analysis/critique of relevant reading material
• individual or group projects conducted through electronic media
• peer teaching and workshop presentations
• online research

This course is taught over 11 sessions in semester 2. The course forms part of a module of 3 units which together are referred to as the "E-learning" module; the other 2 units of this module are TAEDEL501A Facilitate e-learning & TAEDES505A Evaluate a training program. In every session various elements will be covered from each unit in the module.

During the program you will complete assessment tasks in class which are listed at the beginning of each module. Such tasks may include:

Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete all of the following tasks to a satisfactory standard.
You will receive written feedback on all assessment tasks.
Task 1: Design and develop one e-learning resource
Research, design and develop one (1) e-learning resource that reflects client needs and the contexts of application with documented evidence of:
- consultation, research and findings
- completed designs for the resource
Task 2: Design, develop then trial and review one e-learning resource
Research, design and develop one (1) e-learning resource that reflects client needs and the contexts of application with documented evidence of:
Complete the development of the resource with documented evidence of:
- consultation, research and findings
- completed designs for the resource
- a review and trial of the resource, including user feedback and how this impacted on the development of the resource
- the final e-learning resource, either complete or in part or sample
- the candidate’s specific role in the development process.
Task 3: Online discussion forum (see assessment task instructions in Blackboard)
Contribute to an online discussion forum. You will be evaluated using the following criteria:
- frequency and timeliness of reading messages and posting responses;
- keeping to the topic with pertinent quality posts;
- engaging in critical dialogue through responding to other students' posts and comments
