Course Description
In this course you will gain the skills and knowledge required to install and dismantle the physical elements of an exhibition, gain an understanding of working to a brief and exploring exhibition documentation and processes.
This unit is delivered and assessed in conjunction with CUVPRP503A Present a body of own creative work which focuses on the skills and knowledge required to use creative, technical and project management skills to develop a professional and innovative presentation of own creative work

Your learning activities will take place in a studio. You will complete exercises and industry style projects. You will also be required to undertake study.

You will be required to have your materials purchased prior to the commencement of the project. Please refer to the materials list provided at enrolment.
You will be encouraged to attend exhibition openings and visit galleries outside of your learning environment. RMIT School of Art has two galleries and an ongoing exhibition program.
Overview of Assessment
Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment will incorporate a range of methods to assess performance and the application of knowledge and skills and will include:
- Practical tasks, a series of major projects
- Direct observation including exploration of and experimentation with techniques
- Written and/or oral questioning and discussion to assess knowledge and understanding
- Completion of a visual diary and/or portfolio including personal reflection and feedback
- Direct questioning combined with review of portfolios of evidence
Assessment is based on your ability to undertake the following:
- Handle collection material with care, using safe manual-handling techniques
- Implement procedures and processes for installing and dismantling exhibitions
- Install and dismantle physical elements of exhibitions
- Work cooperatively with others involved in staging exhibitions.

To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard.

Assessment task 2: Peer review
You are required to review all student exhibitions presented in Studio 66. Fill out the pro-forma supplied on Blackboard each week for each exhibition. Print all and hand in as hard copy.
