Course Description

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required of Enrolled/Division 2 Nurses to administer a limited range of medications

            Required skills and knowledge will be applied to assess the competency through the following assessment tasks.

  • Practical Laboratory Assessment

Assessment Tasks

Written Assessment is compromised of multi-choice, short and long written questions.

Clinical calculations is assessed by applying the learnt formulas

Clinical placement incorporates all learnt sessions and applied in a workplace environment with facility educator assessing all  aspects of Medications in this unit of competency.

Clinical labs incorporates all practical essential skills including oral, topical, Subcutaneous, Intramuscular and Intravenous skills.

One further opportunity to demonstrate Clinical Lab competence, will be provided to students if not deemed Satisfactory at the time of clinical assessment.
