• used standard precautions and safe work practices to fabricate custom trays, using a range of materials, for 4 different dentitions with desirable properties and design features including one each of the following (must be a combination of maxillary and mandibular arches):

   - full dentition

   - edentulous

   - partial dentition including

        o bounded saddle

        o free end saddle

• critically evaluated the 4 custom impression trays produced to meet technical laboratory and clinician requirements.

To be deemed competent you must demonstrate an understanding of all aspects required of the competency.

Regular attendance is necessary.

Assessment methods have been designed to measure your achievement of each competency in a flexible manner over multiple tasks and consist of theory and practical based tasks.

Assessment Task 2: Practical Assessment, due Wednesday 26/05/2021.  During your practical assessment you will be required to construct and critically evaluate 4 custom trays that cover a range of factors including full dentition, edentulous and partial dentition (including bounded saddle areas and free end saddle areas) to a standard suitable for insertion in the mouth.

Final results that apply to courses that are delivered and assessed in accordance with competency-based assessment are:

CA: Competency Achieved
