Course Description

To extract all information from ERS(A) relevant to Day VFR operations, define selected aircraft performance terms. determine take off and landing performance, climb performance, cruise performance, loading requirements, compile a flight plan allowing for alternate aerodrome, etc, and calculate a critical point and a PNR, and revise selected airworthiness and equipment requirements.

Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

Completion of Module 1.08 Basic Aeronautical Knowledge (BAK) Examination, and Module 1.10 General Flying Progress Test (GFPT).

1. Locate and state data from the ERS(A).

2. Define selected terms associated with ALA's and determine the suitability of an ALA for operations.

3. Determine from tables or graphs take off and landing data, and define selected terms and abbreviations (considerable revision from Modules 1.03 and 1.05)

4. Determine from graphs or tables selected climb, cruise and descent data.

5. Determine graphically, mathematically or by tabular means the balance conditions of an aircraft for the whole flight and recall and state selected terms associated with loading of an aircraft

6. Compile a flight plan for a charter flight, staying within all the required limits.

7. Locate and state the emergency equipment required for a flight, PIC responsibilities prior to flight, and the maintenance that a pilot is permitted to perform.
