Course Description

To enable students to describe techniques in Sales Forecasting, Financial Control, Capacity Management and Quality Assurance and demonstrate their application.

Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

EB 508 Production Planning and Control - Estimating and Planning Techniques.

1. Detail various sales forecasting techniques and their practical application then develop forecasts using data from various sources.

2. Explain the process of Budgetary Cost Control in terms of routine operations, long term policy and strategic planning. And complete specified simple budget development tasks including breakeven analysis.

3. Define and explain the measuring of capacity in manufacturing, finite loading, long term strategic planning, balanced work-loads; capacity shortfall countermeasures.

4. Develop a process control plans.

5. Outline the most suitable method of progress control for a specified situation.
