Course Description

The purpose of this module is to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to undertake project management in the workplace

Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

The following modules (or equivalents) should be preferably completed prior to, or in conjunction with, this module:
 VAE 561 Participative Management
 VAG 320 Total Quality Management

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner should be able to:
1. Define a project
2. Analyse the scope of a project
3. Use planning, scheduling and cost control techniques

7. Identify the legal obligations applicable to a particular project


Overview of Assessment

The assessment for this module will consist of the following:
 1 x closed book examination at the end of the program worth 50%
 2 x individual assignment worth 30%
 1 x group project worth 20%
