Course Description
This course introduces the student to computer networking, particularly Local Area Networking.
Students will be enrolled into the Cisco Networking Academy Program and use its extensive online curriculum resources with web based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs and preparation for industry standard certifications. This course will be delivered using the Academy’s CCNA curriculum.
Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities
Basic computer literacy and basic internet experience are mandatory. Prior experience with computer hardware, binary maths, basic electronics and command line interfaces is desired but not mandatory

Learning Outcomes
Overview of Assessment
The student must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent.
Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including online or written tests, a Skills Test which covers skills acquired in lab activities and a final online theory exam.
