Course Description

Students will develop their skills in the maintenance of router and switch operating system images and configuration files
Students will be enrolled into the Cisco Networking Academy Program and use its extensive online curriculum resources with web based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs and preparation for industry standard certifications. This course will be delivered using the Academy’s CCNA curriculum.

Details of Learning Activities

The student will develop skills in basic router configuration, securing routers to ensure that only authorised users have access , configuring routing protocols to meet design requirements, advanced subnetting and route summarization, VLSM design.


Teaching Schedule

The first half of our Cisco CCNA Training program is called INTRO.

INTRO is taught using the Cisco Networking Academy Program modules CCNA1 and CCNA2.

CCNA1 is used to deliver the competencies EEET6394 and EEET6395.
CCNA2 is used to deliver the competencies EEET6395 and COSC5108C

Overview of Assessment

The student must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent. Assessment methods have been designed to measure achievement of each competency in a flexible manner over a range of assessment tasks.
Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including online or written tests, a Skills Test which covers skills acquired in lab activities and a final online theory exam.
